The Missouri Legislature is considering HB 567 to eliminate several harmful provisions in Prop A.
The Missouri Legislature has an opportunity to provide real relief to small business owners across the Show Me State.
The Problem:
- Significant Minimum Wage Increases. Prop A increased the minimum wage from $12.30 to $13.75 per hour this year and increases the minimum wage to $15.00 an hour in January 2026. The minimum wage will then automatically adjust based on changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
- Paid Sick Leave. Prop A also requires employers to provide one hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked. Business owners with fewer than 15 employees must allow for up to 40 hours per year, and businesses with 15 employees or more must allow for up to 56 hours per year of accrued paid sick leave.
The Solution:
- HB 567 would eliminate paid sick leave, eliminate the CPI increases, and push the minimum wage increase back by two years.
This would provide much needed relief to small business owners here in Missouri. Tell your lawmaker to stand up for Main Street and support HB 567!
